If you've ever done a year ahead annual tarot reading with me, then you've probably seen this card. But it's the major arcana, the chariot card, represented by

Dolly Parton, who we lost recently, and it's called the Temperance Deck. I don't think you can get it anymore, but it's one of my faves. And we also just lost Gloria Steinem, who I had the pleasure of showing around for an event many, many years ago, and I am happy to report she was just as

gorgeous and gracious and had all of her shit together as you would hope. So here we are. Where does this leave us? Where who's gonna pick up the torch? Who is who's gonna lead the way forward?

King of Wands, it is time to talk about fall colors, huh? It's time to step up. It's time to lead. It's time to be in go energy. It is time to be ready. You can go to YouTube and see what this card looks like. But essentially it is a king with an orange robe and the crown is

yellow and has flames of fire. The king is sitting on a throne that has lions and salamanders, full of salamanders. And in the page, the salamanders are open. And in the king, the salamanders are basically in a circle and they're like an oroboros where they've reached the end of their tail. So this is reminding us of completions of cycles, completions of projects. Let's get some stuff out of the way and

This king is ready to leap up and say, What's next? This is a reminder with the salamander that you have walked through the fire and come out the other side. You are on the other side of this. And now it's time to take the lead, which is sort of interesting considering what I was just saying. All right. What's next?

And we are moving from difficult times to better times. And certainly we love that. But we have to remember, as one of my faves and yours, Jessica Dore said, fear is the price of the of it. Let me try that. Let me try that again. Fear is the price of admission. So you've got

And in front of them in the boat are six swords. And if you take out in here in this case we think the swords are representing fear. If you take out the swords in the boat, fills with water and sinks.

Fear is the price of admission. We don't get to move into this next phase of what our reality is gonna look like without facing our fears, maybe not overcoming them, but being courageous and going through with them, bringing them with us. Yep. It's what is that trope? Feel the fear and do it anyways.

We haven't had to do we haven't had to fight for our democracy in the ways that our ancestors did.

Let's take what they taught us, what's in our blood already, and take that energy into taking the reins, taking the lead, picking up where all of these incredible women before us

Where are you, your own Knight of Shining Armor? And how can you lead with your heart? Heart forward intuition fully activated. So

You know, so many times in our lives, what we know to be true, what our intuition tells us, we say out loud and somebody says, Give me some proof. Yeah, that's not true. You're crazy. And over time our intuition diminishes, even though we were right the whole time. Now it's not always easy to distinguish between intuition and fear, certainly, right? And that six of swords that we just got is

there to remind us we have to be able to figure out what it is.

But when you are in touch with your intuition and call it whatever you want, okay, call it a spiritual download, call it a knowing, call it collect c tapping into the collective unconscious, call it pattern recognition. And f honestly, I think it's a combination of all of those things. When you start believing in and trusting your own self above

all else. I'm not saying we're denying science. I'm not saying, you know, if your gut's telling you, I don't know, not to get a vaccine

What I am saying is

Your intuition.

is incredibly important. It gives you information and your job is to be able to decipher it, I guess, right? Because sometimes, like I said, if your intuition is fear based, that's some interesting shadow work to do.

But figuring out where it's coming from.

is key and leading with your heart with what you know is right and you know we have a knight so valiant let's be valiant and let's pull one more

Let's walk into this next phase of humanity. Let's say. Let's go there. Let's walk into this next phase of humanity with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective and all of the energy and all of the hard work that will be required, bringing with us the absolute magic of being alive. The magic that exists.

Beyond

Fantasy novels, which you know, by the way, I love. But the everyday magic, the tomatoes that I'm growing in my garden, the watching a bird outside my window on a branch, feeling a warm breeze when I'm a bit chilly, feeling goosebumps because I've had a coincidence that is unreal. That kind of magic and

Hopefulness. I mean, if you've been around the block with me, you know that this podcast exists to try and foster hopefulness because you know research shows us that when we are hopeful that things can change, we'll actually put in the work to you know, bringing back that King of Wands, bringing back that page of pentacles, we'll put in the work. If we believe that this can happen.

We're gonna go for it. But if we don't, if we're hopeless, we go, why bother? And we wanna fight against that. There's always hopefulness. There's always outcomes that we don't know. And there's always just the idea of fighting for what's right. I think that's important. Let's take that energy into this next phase. Our good old page of pentacles.
