Megan (00:01.162)
I'm Megan Hamilton, and this is the Embracing Enchantment Podcast. Happy October. Listen, this is going to be an NSFW episode because I am fucking filled with rage. What a timeline we are on that we have been living through. I am absolutely

Tired of hearing about all of the different ways that women and non-binary folks and all kinds of people are still and possibly even more than ten years ago subjected to the most fucked up shit. the patriarchy is

going down and it's my job and your job if you so choose to help dismantle it brick by brick

Megan (01:14.478)
What do you say? I'm gonna do some tarot cards today. I am hopeful actually, despite my rage. because it very much feels like there is a a surge, a wave of change. People are the breaking point has happened. People are not putting up with whatever.

we've been putting up with.

Megan (01:56.151)
It's like going through

Where I want to be witness to all of the people who are naming their abusers. I am so fucking here for it. And then also naps on the couch with little snacks to get back to an equilibrium where I can show up again. That's how I do it. Everybody's got their own way. Lots of witchcraft.

Hey, you know what? If you've never done a freezer spell, this might be so beautiful for you. I'm not into hexing.

Some people are, I think actually at this particular point in time, I I have no judgment, but a freezer spell is a great way to freeze the energy of the people creating harm. So you can also do a mirror spell and you can also call in Medusa as I do often to cast these motherfuckers into stone.

More on that soon. My band hag is w at some point we will record the song Medusa that I wrote. and I will tell you the story behind the song. Anyways, I feel like I'm rambling. I feel like maybe you're with me. The lips are red, the rage is hot, and we're gonna read some tarot cards for guidance. But I'm glad you're here, and I'm glad that we have community, and I'm glad that

Megan (03:36.273)
we can all collectively agree on what the fuck. I didn't finish the freezer spell. So there's so many different ways of doing it, but here's my favorite. You write down the name of the person who's a fucking asshole shit face and you put it into a baggie and then you fill that baggie with water and a bunch of stuff to

Stop them. So you can use peppercorns, you can use hot spices, you can use what's the one that we like to use so much? cloves, whole cloves for spikiness. Put it all together and throw it in the freezer. Done.

Megan (04:28.002)
Fuck that energy. No thank you. Alright. Let's see what the cards want to say today. I hope you're well, by the way. And not

I don't know.

Nobody's well right now. It's fucked up. Anyways.

Megan (04:53.323)
October by the

Megan (04:57.678)
Four of Cups. if you are feeling like this is same old, same old, and you're tired of it and you want to block it out, fair. However, and who could blame anybody for that right now? Any woman and non-binary person that I know has experienced.

sexual assault to a certain degree. Anybody. and we're tired and it's relentless. And so if you are feeling like you just need to shut it all out, totally fair. However

There is a gift in seeing it and witnessing it and

being able to move through it, towards action. And I wonder if that's what this gift is in our Four of Cups. If you are able to open your eyes.

and be a witness, maybe with support, if that's what you need. Like ther a therapist, then there is reward, even if that reward is just being somebody else's witness.

Megan (06:35.223)
Snips.

Megan (06:41.016)
Yeah, okay. Seven of Cups, there's choices to be made, and we don't want to make them. We're feeling stuck, we don't know what the right choice is. I always say there's no right or wrong choice. There is just a choice, and then what happens because of that choice? Honestly, there is a very rare occasion when you make a choice and there's no coming back from it. Obviously, there's lots of caveats to that rule, but

If you are feeling stuck or worried that you're going to make the wrong choice, then what you can do is just make a choice. Maybe if you're feeling so worried about this choice, maybe go for the easiest choice at first. And then often you can change.

Your mind if you need to.

Megan (07:48.557)
Also, I mean I'm kind of framing that within the context of what we're talking about. However, sometimes we get everything we asked for, and I don't mean that in a sinister way. I'm switching gears here for a second, because I know where my brain is and and I the cards are not two dimensional. I mean they are, but

Sometimes we get everything we asked for and it feels so stressful. So work through it. Let it feel stressful until it doesn't. You know what I mean? Walk through it. I think that's what October asks of us in general, right? Get down into the shadow and walk through it and come out the other side. You'll never regret getting to know yourself as your full self.

What else?

Wheel of Fortune. The wheel of fortune. All right. I'm glad I've moved into Silly. Here we go. Wheel of Fortune is it reminds you that when things are really difficult, that will change.

When things are going really amazingly well, that will change. That doesn't mean, however, if your brain just jumped there, that they will change into something worse. Sometimes they change into something better, right? Hearkening back to our seven of cups. Like if you go for the easiest choice and then you decide to go for the harder choice that you might that s might yield something better for you. Not always riches. But I mean, right now I'm really into

Megan (09:39.981)
Women and non binary folks and folks that have been living under oppressive societies and who who have not been perpetuating that oppression, I'm really into those people getting all the fucking money. That's what I'm into right now. so here's here's to that. Here's to the wheel of fortune. And

It reminds us that we w humanity is cycles. W w it's always a turning wheel. The wheel of the year. The seasons changing.

And also, this card is about luck.

I don't

Struggle with luck a little bit. What I believe is that the energy we put out into the world comes back to us, it just sometimes takes a different shape than what we were expecting. And so this is when, you know, when the way I practice manifesting, for example, is I dream up the situation that I would like, and then I root into how I feel in that situation, and then I try to notice what those feelings mean to me. So like

Megan (10:55.886)
could be safety or it could be can I don't know contentment or it could be accomplishment or whatever it is and then I try to as best I can let go of the outcome but instead know that what I'm really looking for is accomplishment or contentment and so when I have those feelings I think to myself I've manifested

What I want.

Megan (11:29.334)
And so luck, like let's say you're a small business owner like me, and you get a client out of the blue because somebody recommended you. And you think, wow, that's so lucky. Yes, you didn't do anything specifically for that to happen, but you did impress somebody else enough that they recommended you to somebody who then decided to hire you. See what mean?

Wheel of Fortune is, however, connected to luck. And instead of luck, sometimes I think of it as what might feel like a miracle. I will leave you to choose whatever

Words speak the strongest to you.

Okay, yeah. How are we doing? We hanging in?

Megan (12:28.566)
X

I got this one for myself this morning. Good old Eight of Swords. All right, listen. If this is not a card.

Megan (12:41.784)
For the times.

You can feel okay, sorry, let me start this again. Surrounded by swords, some might say they look like a jail. Bound, tied up, blindfolded. This motherfucking person keeps moving forward, doesn't know where they're going, can only use their feet to guide the way, one foot in the water, intuition, one foot on the ground, empirical.

understanding, right? they're still moving forward. And so are you, and so am I, and so will we always, no matter what, because we always have and we can.

So this is a card about leaning into your intuition, about what you know is right, your third eye, using whatever tools are available to you to keep moving forward, even if you don't know what's coming, even if you can't see the path clearly in front of you, keep putting a foot in front of the other. Keep going. That's how we get through anything.

But really focus on your intuition this October is what I would say in general. And like connect with your guides if you want to. You know, ancestors, guardian angels, deities that you feel connected to.

Megan (14:22.517)
energies that you like.

Gonna call gonna call. Try it again. Gonna pull one last card to set us into gear. Let's try that again. Gonna pull one last card.

Final thought on this day.

Megan (14:57.741)
Goodness. This is the I always think of this as the equivalent card. Nine of Wands.

We've been hurt before, but still we are brave. I honestly I didn't mean to make this whole thing about everything that's going on, but I guess you kinda can't get past that.

Megan (15:21.707)
Protect yourself.

Acknowledge that you've been hurt, right? This person is wearing, sorry, I'm trying to get this in focus here. Person is wearing a bandage, they've been hurt mentally and physically. And that's evident. but look how brave they are standing there, protecting themselves, ready for what's next.

This down, you guys. That's why they're scared. Always have been. The control comes from fear.

So when you can't be controlled.

Megan (16:05.89)
You are empowered. That's why I love witchcraft. It's the one spiritual practice that lets me you know, and obviously we're all careful about

Using practices that are available to us and not taking from cultures that we don't belong to, that are closed practices, but witchcraft and magic feels like the most empowering way of practicing spirituality to me and always has been. It's also fucking fun and feels like makes me feel like a badass. So those can't be bad things. You know what I mean? And

Then I feel like I have power and not like the entire system is trying to attack me for wanting to do things in a different way. And therefore I I feel outside of that system as well as a huge desire to take it down. So thank you for being here today. I hope that you got some power from these cards. They're meant to

empower and like I said I am angry I maybe you are too however I am hopeful I feel I feel a collective community of people who are done and that's what we need we need all of our voices to say that's it

We've had it. We had it a long time ago, but we're done here. We we do not participate any longer. I love you. Thank you for being here. And boy, do we have some really cool episodes coming up. You can find all of the information and takeaways from today's episode in the show notes or at embracingenchantment.com. Subscribe and follow.
